Vaccination offer becomes mobile
From April 1, a mobile vaccination team from the Medical Center - University of Freiburg will travel to health and care facilities as well as to the districts of Freiburg / Vaccination center closed due to low demand / Planning for autumn underway
Targeted offers instead of large capacities: On April 1, 2022, a Mobile Vaccination Team from the Medical Center - University of Freiburg will replace the Freiburg Vaccination Center as the central vaccination service in Freiburg. The mobile vaccination team will be active two to three days a week in health and care facilities, among other places, and will be represented with public vaccination offers in districts throughout Freiburg. "With this offer, we want to reach people in particular who have not yet decided to get vaccinated. At the same time, we are creating an opportunity to get the booster vaccination quickly and easily," says PD Dr. Thorsten Hammer from the Medical Center - University of Freiburg, Medical Director of the Vaccination Center and the Mobile Vaccination Team Freiburg. The switch from centralized vaccination services to mobile teams is in line with the state's revised vaccination strategy and takes into account the low demand at the Freiburg vaccination center in recent weeks. At the same time, preparations are already underway to be able to re-establish a central vaccination service with large capacities for Freiburg and the surrounding area in the fall. Premises and logistics are currently being examined.
How, with which vaccine and where can I get vaccinated?
The mobile vaccination team offers vaccinations with mRNA vaccines (Comirnaty, Spikevax) as well as with the available protein-based vaccine (Novavax). No registration is required for public appointments in the city districts. Vaccinations will be offered for the last time at the Freiburg vaccination center at the end of the week:
- on Friday, March 25, 2022 with mRNA vaccines
- On Sunday, March 27, 2022 with protein-based vaccine
