The Department of Neurology and Neuroscience at the Medical Center - University of Freiburg invites you to its MS patient event on Wednesday, June 1, 2022 from 5 to 9 pm. The autoimmune disease multiple sclerosis, or MS for short, is the most common inflammatory disease of the central nervous system in young adults. Around 250,000 people are affected in Germany. Despite intensive research, the disease still leaves many questions unanswered and varies so much from patient to patient in terms of progression, symptoms and treatment success that it is only possible to make generalized statements to a limited extent. For this reason, MS is also known as the "disease with a thousand faces".

Questions can be asked after the presentations

Affected patients can find out about forms of immunotherapy, the basics of MS development, diagnosis and progression and other topics at the Patient Day. The hybrid event starts at 5 p.m. in the Killianstraße lecture hall, Killianstraße 5, 79106 Freiburg and will also be streamed live so that interested parties can also participate from home. After the welcome address at 5 p.m. by Prof. Dr. Sebastian Rauer,senior physician at the Department of Neurology and Neuroscience at the Medical Center - University of Freiburg, five lectures will follow, each with five minutes for questions and discussion.

• 5.40 pm: Rehabilitation for MS
• 6.15 pm: Immunotherapy of MS - mild/moderate course
• 18.55 hrs: Break
• 7.25 pm: Vaccinations for MS
• 8 p.m.: Immunotherapy for MS - active/highly active course
• 8.40 pm: Questions and discussion (live and web)
