Freiburg virologist becomes Chairman of the Scientific Advisory Board of the Paul-Ehrlich-Institut
Prof. Dr. Hartmut Hengel, Medical Director of the Institute for Virology at the Medical Center - University of Freiburg, was elected Chairman of the Scientific Advisory Board of the Paul-Ehrlich-Institut (PEI) on June 7, 2022. His new role also includes membership of the Joint Scientific Advisory Board of the Federal Ministry of Health (BMG) in Berlin.
The Scientific Advisory Board of the PEI supports the PEI in its regulatory-scientific competence. Its members - scientifically recognized experts from the specialist areas in which the PEI is active - are appointed to the committee by the President of the PEI with the approval of the Federal Ministry of Health. The Scientific Advisory Board meets at least twice a year.
