The Blood Donor Center at the Medical Center - University of Freiburg donates delicious pastries to early risers in January / No mask requirement for donors

Getting up early is particularly worthwhile in January: every Monday, Tuesday and Friday, the first 40 donors at the Medical Center - University of Freiburg's blood donation center receive a delicious, oven-fresh New Year's pretzel as a thank you for their donation. "There is currently another acute shortage of life-saving blood. Patients with blood group 0 are particularly affected by this. Please help: Come and donate blood," appeals Dr. Markus Umhau, Medical Director of the Blood Donation Centre. The pretzel campaign will run until Tuesday, January 31, 2023.

New premises and changed regulations

Light wood, lots of glass and state-of-the-art technology: the Blood Donation Center of the Medical Center - University of Freiburg moved to Breisacher Str. 115b in October 2022. Blood donors can expect a friendly and modern atmosphere at the new location. To avoid waiting times, appointments can be booked on the blood donation center's website - but spontaneous donors are also welcome.

In addition, blood donors and employees have not been required to wear masks since the beginning of January 2023.

Opening hours of the blood donation center:
Monday and Tuesday 8 am to 3 pm
Wednesday and Thursday 12 pm to 7 pm
Friday and Saturday 8 am to 1 pm
