Endometriosis month March

Endometriosis is the most common gynecological disease and affects around four to 30 percent of all women between puberty and menopause. Tissue that resembles the lining of the uterus grows outside the uterus. This can lead to pain and involuntary childlessness - and often remains undetected for a long time.
"On average, six years pass between the onset of the first symptoms and the diagnosis, as the pain that occurs is often mistaken for severe menstrual pain," says Prof. Dr. Ingolf Juhasz-Böss, Medical Director of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Medical Center - University of Freiburg. "It is important that we create more awareness and help those affected to alleviate their pain and improve their quality of life."
Comprehensive treatment and care
With the certified Endometriosis Center at the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, the Medical Center - University of Freiburg is a competent point of contact for the treatment of endometriosis.
