Multiple sclerosis - a disease with many faces
More than 280,000 people in Germany live with multiple sclerosis (MS), an inflammatory disease of the brain and spinal cord. Women are affected about twice as often as men. Visual and sensory disorders of the skin often occur first. Later, paralysis and psychological changes such as depression can occur. There are two basic forms of the disease: chronic or relapsing-remitting. However, both forms often merge into one another.
