"Ladies' Circle 75" donates 25,000 euros to the Freiburg association to help mentally ill children and young people

The Freiburg "Ladies' Circle 75" organized a charity golf tournament together with the Freiburg Golf Club at the end of July. An impressive 25,000 euros were raised. All of the proceeds will go to the Freiburg Association for the Help of Mentally Ill Children and Adolescents, which works closely with the Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, Psychotherapy and Psychosomatics at the Medical Center - University of Freiburg. The donation cheque was ceremoniously accepted by Dr. Madeleine Zimmermann and Dr. Katja Schneider-Momm, both board members of the association and senior physicians in child and adolescent psychiatry.

The donation will contribute to an urgently needed expansion of the inpatient, day-care and outpatient areas on the existing grounds of the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Department at the Medical Center - University of Freiburg. "With this new building, we want to rapidly improve patient care in the Freiburg region for children and adolescents with mental illnesses, which are on the rise," emphasize Zimmermann and Schneider-Momm.

"Children and young people are our future. Their health is important to us, both their physical health and especially their mental health, the importance of which is often underestimated. That's why the Ladies' Circle 75 is very happy to support this important project with the charity golf tournament," explained Eva Schultheis, President of the Ladies' Circle 75, when handing over the donation cheque.

The Freiburg Association for the Help of Mentally Ill Children and Adolescents has been providing unbureaucratic support since 1976 when meaningful measures for mentally ill children and adolescents are not funded by health insurance or the youth welfare office. It provides a wide range of preventive, outpatient and inpatient help, especially in the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Department of the Medical Center - University of Freiburg.
