Patient information day: Radiation treatment for prostate cancer
On October 28, interested visitors to the Department of Radiation Oncology at the Medical Center - University of Freiburg will be offered a varied program including a tour of the treatment rooms and lectures
Prostate cancer is the most common tumor disease in men. Radiotherapy is one of the central treatment measures. At the "Radiation Treatment for Prostate Cancer" patient day organized by the Department - University of Freiburg's Medical Center - University of Freiburg, patients, relatives and interested parties can find out how it works and which complementary therapies are useful. The event will take place on Saturday, October 28, 2023, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Department of Radiation Oncology, Robert-Koch-Str. 3 in Freiburg.
"We cordially invite all interested parties to a patient day at our clinic. During a tour of the clinic, visitors will gain an insight into numerous treatment rooms and learn about the process of high-precision radiotherapy," says Prof. Dr. Anca-L. Grosu, Medical Director of the Department of Radiation Oncology at the Medical Center - University of Freiburg.
The day offers a varied program of lectures, guided tours and opportunities for personal exchange. Topics such as high-precision radiotherapy, brachytherapy and hormone therapy will be presented, and information on the HypoFocal-SBRT study funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) can also be obtained. In addition, practical demonstrations of the radiation equipment will be offered. At numerous information stands, visitors will also learn about topics such as nutritional medicine in cancer, complementary medicine, sports oncology, self-help and rehabilitation.
