On Tuesday, January 30, 2024, the Marburger Bund has called on medical staff at the university hospitals to take part in an all-day warning strike. As a result, some of the planned operations and outpatient appointments at the Medical Center - University of Freiburg will have to be postponed.
An agreement between the Marburger Bund and the Medical Center - University of Freiburg ensures that operations and appointments for children, oncological procedures, intensive care and emergency medical care can take place. This also applies to obstetric care. The blood donation center is open as usual. However, patients and blood donors should be prepared for longer waiting times on Tuesday. Emergency patients should switch to other emergency rooms if possible.
People whose appointments have to be canceled will be actively informed by the specialist departments. The University Hospital asks you to refrain from making inquiries.
