Patient day on the topic of Parkinson's disease
On Thursday, May 2, experts from the Medical Center - University of Freiburg will provide information about Parkinson's disease / Event for patients and relatives
Parkinson's disease is one of the most common progressive diseases of the nervous system, in which nerve cells gradually die off. Even though a cure is not yet possible, Parkinson's disease can be treated very well nowadays. Patients and their relatives can find out about new medical care options at the Patient Day "Parkinson's Disease" on Thursday, May 2, 2024 .The event will take place from 2 pm to 4.30 pm at the Neurocenter of the Medical Center - University of Freiburg, Breisacher Straße 64in Freiburg. Participation is free of charge. Registration is required.
Experts will report on new possibilities for medical care in short, easy-to-understand presentations. There will also be plenty of time for questions and individual discussions. "The diagnosis of Parkinson's disease is still very stressful for those affected and their relatives. Yet today we have many options to alleviate or even stop the disease. We would like to communicate this at the Patient Day," says Prof. Dr. Michel Rijntjes, Managing Senior Physician at the Department of Neurology and Neuroscience at the Medical Center - University of Freiburg.
The Department of Neurology and Neuroscience at the Medical Center - University of Freiburg is organizing the Patient Day together with the Department of Stereotactic and Functional Neurosurgery at the Department of Neurosurgery at the Medical Center - University of Freiburg and the Parkinson's Clinic Ortenau.
