Freiburg specialist clinic donates proceeds from a solidarity campaign by the Celenus salvea Group to the Freiburg Association for the Help of Mentally Ill Children and Adolescents e.V.

Celenus Fachklinik Freiburg has donated 1,000 euros to the Freiburg Association for the Aid of Mentally Ill Children and Adolescents as part of the Celenus salvea Group's annual solidarity campaign. On Monday, June 4, Hans Ulrich Bilzer, Director of the Celenus Specialist Clinic, handed over a symbolic check to representatives of the association and the clinic in the garden of the Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, Psychotherapy and Psychosomatics of the Medical Center - University of Freiburg.

"We are happy about every donation that helps us to implement projects and measures that are not covered by the state, health insurance companies or the youth welfare office," says Prof. Dr. Christian Fleischhaker, 1st Chairman of the Association and Medical Director of the Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, Psychotherapy and Psychosomatics. The donation will be used to purchase new play and creative materials such as puzzles and board games as well as knitting wool and canvases for the day clinics for children and adolescents. "The play materials support our therapeutic work by enabling the children and young people to strengthen their social skills, express their emotions and heal in a safe environment," says Dr. Madeleine Zimmermann, 2nd chairwoman of the association and senior physician at the clinic.

The Freiburg Association for the Help of Mentally Ill Children and Adolescents has been providing unbureaucratic support since 1976 when appropriate measures for mentally ill children and adolescents are not funded by health insurance or the youth welfare office. Originally, the focus was on children and adolescents on the wards of the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Department at the Medical Center - University of Freiburg. The activities now also include outpatient treatment and, in particular, prevention.
