Patient Day on September 17 / On-site examination and information about personal cancer risk / Lectures on the treatment of tumors in the head and neck area

The number of head and neck cancers is steadily increasing across Europe. As part of the "Make sense" campaign, with which the European Head and Neck Cancer Society aims to raise awareness of these diseases, the Department of Oto-Rhino-Laryngology at the Medical Center - University of Freiburg is hosting an information event on Tuesday, September 17, 2024.

"Early detection and treatment of head and neck tumors is crucial for successful treatment. With our event, we would like to offer patients the opportunity to obtain comprehensive information and better assess their personal risks," says Prof. Dr. Andreas Knopf, Medical Director of the Department of Oto-Rhino-Laryngology at the Medical Center - University of Freiburg.

From 10 a.m. to 12 noon, physicians from the Medical Center - University of Freiburg will be on site in the ENT outpatient clinic to provide free information about the personal risk of cancer in the head and neck area. Starting at 2:30 p.m., patients and interested parties will attend lectures on surgery and radiation therapy for head and neck tumors, prevention options and the role of speech therapy in treatment. After the presentations, the experts will be available to answer questions.

The event will take place on the main floor of the Department of Oto-Rhino-Laryngology, Killianstraße 5 in Freiburg. Admission is free, registration is not required.
