The Fördergesellschaft Forschung Tumorbiologie e.V. distributes free ice cream to patients in the Department of Tumor Biology at the Medical Center - University of Freiburg

Ice cream always works! On Friday, September 6, patients at the Department of Tumor Biology at the Medical Center - University of Freiburg were treated to a special surprise. In cooperation with the Schwarzwälder Eis Manufaktur, the Fördergesellschaft Forschung Tumorbiologie e.V. distributed free sweet refreshments.

The Department of Tumor Biology is home to three facilities of the Medical Center - University of Freiburg: the Department of Oncological Rehabilitation, the Interdisciplinary Pain Center (ISZ) and two wards of the Department of Medicine I.

"We are delighted with this small gesture to put a smile on the faces of patients at the Tumor Biology Clinic," says Prof. Dr. Hans Helge Bartsch, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Tumor Biology Research Promotion Society. "Our aim is not only to advance research, but also to directly support the well-being of patients. A big thank you also goes to our cooperation partner, Schwarzwälder Eismanufaktur, which sponsored the ice cream for our patients."

The Fördergesellschaft Forschung Tumorbiologie e.V. has been supporting innovative projects in cancer medicine through donations since 1992. These include research projects on issues relating to the development of cancer, improved treatment strategies and psychosocial support for cancer patients, as well as improving prevention, early detection, diagnostics and medical aftercare, including cancer self-help. In total, more than 8 million euros have already been invested in cancer research.
