Versatile and close to people: If you are looking for an exciting and future-oriented apprenticeship, the School for Surgical and Anesthesia Technician Assistance at the Academy for Medical Professions at the Medical Center - University of Freiburg is the right place for you. All interested parties, especially students and their parents, are invited to find out more about the training professions of surgical and anesthesia technical assistance (OTA/ATA) at the open day on Saturday, October 19, 2024 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The information day will take place in the new premises at Konrad-Goldmann-Straße 5d in Freiburg, which we moved into in May.
"At our new location, the trainees benefit from an inviting learning environment with modern equipment," says Franz-Josef Overhoff, Head of the Academy for Medical Professions at the Medical Center - University of Freiburg. "It is a great pleasure for us to show this new location to the public on the Open Day and provide an exciting insight into our training programs."
Diverse program and exclusive insights
In addition to a tour of the new premises, visitors will gain exclusive insights into the diverse tasks of surgical and anaesthetic assistants. The trainee speed dating event will also give them the opportunity to make direct contact with the educators in short conversations. The event is free of charge and registration is not necessary. Appointments for the trainee speed dating can be booked in advance using an online booking tool.
Assisting in the operating room
Operating and anesthesia technicians (OTA/ATA) play a central role in patient care during a surgical procedure. Operating theatre assistants help to ensure that surgical procedures are carried out safely and efficiently, for example by ensuring sterile conditions in the operating theatre. Anesthesia technicians ensure the safety and well-being of patients before, during and after surgical procedures.
"Both professions are complex and require technical and medical expertise, precision and the ability to act calmly and efficiently in emergency situations. At the Medical Center - University of Freiburg, we want to offer trainees a safe environment in which to acquire these skills in theory and practice," says Tina Bogatsch, Head of the OTA/ATA School at the Academy for Medical Professions at the Medical Center - University of Freiburg.
