30 years of "Deaf children learn to hear
Benefit evening on October 31 at the Historisches Kaufhaus/ Visitors can expect a varied program with music, speeches and testimonials
For three decades, the association "Taube Kinder lernen hören e.V." has been supporting children with hearing impairments on their way into a hearing world. The association supports families, promotes research and education and helps to ensure that children with cochlear implants can experience language, music and community. To mark this special anniversary, the association invites you to the Historisches Kaufhaus Freiburg on Friday, October 31 from 6 pm to 10 pm.
Under the patronage of Lord Mayor Martin Horn, guests can expect an inspiring evening full of music and personal accounts of life with a cochlear implant. Songs with and without words will be performed by "Die Mademoiselles" Caroline Lafont (coloratura soprano) and Friederike Wild (piano) accompanied by Prof. Jaime Gonzalez (oboe). A flying buffet will provide the culinary framework.
"Being able to hear is the basis for language, education and social participation. The fact that we can open up this path for so many children today is a joint success that we will continue to build on," says Prof. Dr. Roland Laszig, 1st Chairman of the "Deaf Children Learn to Hear" association and former Medical Director of the Department of Oto-Rhino-Laryngology at the Medical Center - University of Freiburg.
