Honorary doctorate for Freiburg radiotherapist
University of Cluj-Napoca honors Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. mult. Anca-L. Grosu for her pioneering achievements in radiotherapy
Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. mult. Anca-L. Grosu, Medical Director of the Department of Radiation Oncology at the Medical Center - University of Freiburg, was awarded an honorary doctorate - Doctor honoris causa - by the University of Medicine and Pharmacy "Iuliu Hatieganu" in Cluj-Napoca, Romania, at the beginning of November 2025. The university is thus recognizing her outstanding scientific contributions to the clinical application of biological imaging in radiotherapy as well as her commitment to international cooperation in research and teaching.
"This award is a special honor for me because it ties in with my academic beginnings in Cluj-Napoca," says Grosu. "It encourages me to continue working on innovative approaches that benefit patients worldwide."
Traditional university with international appeal
The University of Medicine and Pharmacy "Iuliu Hatieganu" in Cluj-Napoca, where Grosu completed her medical studies, is one of the oldest medical universities in Romania. Its roots go back to the Transylvanian medical school founded in 1776. Today, it is one of the country's leading universities and enjoys a high reputation for its research and international networking.
