Part-time nursing care training: tailored to the needs of families
Part-time training for nurses at the Medical Center - University of Freiburg / Applications now open
The Academy for Medical Professions at the Medical Center - University of Freiburg will be offering part-time training for healthcare and nursing care for the second time in the 2016/2017 training year, starting in November.
This type of part-time training has only been offered very rarely in Germany to date. "With this offer, we are responding to the changing social structures in which interest in part-time offers is increasing," says Franz-Josef Overhoff, Head of the Academy for Medical Professions at the Medical Center - University of Freiburg. The training lasts four years and involves a daily theoretical or practical workload of around six hours. The part-time training is remunerated at 75 percent of the usual training salary.
The part-time training for nurses is aimed specifically at parents with children requiring care, people with relatives in need of care or those returning to work. "We are pleased that we are able to offer part-time training in this area in order to make it possible to combine family, life situation and professional training," says Angelika Zimmer, Equal Opportunities Officer at the Medical Center - University of Freiburg.
As the largest employer and training provider in the region, family-friendly working hours, childcare and vacation childcare are also very important to the Uniklinik Freiburg. Those responsible are aware that it must be possible to respond flexibly to the needs of families and certain life situations in order to attract sufficient trainees and employees in the future.
