With the current birth figures, the Medical Center – University of Freiburg is once again the clinic with the highest number of births in Freiburg. A total of 2,339 children were born in 2,233 births. This puts the Medical Center – University of Freiburg in the top position in the South Baden region for the first time: no other obstetrics department in the region—not even the two other perinatal centers of the highest care level in Lörrach and Offenburg—had more newborns in 2025.
