A green ribbon as a sign against discrimination and exclusion

Campaign for World Mental Health Day on October 10

Almost one in three people suffers from a mental illness in the course of a year. The fact that people in mental health crises dare to speak openly about their problems requires acceptance in society. On World Mental Health Day on October 10, the staff of the Department of Psychiatry and Psychotherapy at the University Medical Center Freiburg are campaigning for a non-judgmental approach to mental illness: as part of the nationwide "Green Ribbon Campaign", they are wearing a green ribbon as a sign against discrimination and exclusion of people with mental illness.

This year, the World Federation for Mental Health's (WFMH) World Mental Health Day is dedicated to the topic of suicide prevention. Numerous information events and discussion rounds will be held throughout Germany. There will also be a series of events in Freiburg. You can find the detailed program at: www.freiburg.de/psyche
