Concert for children: "From Holberg's time" for the benefit of Tigerherz
The Freiburg Student Orchestra and the Freiburg University Medical Center invite you to a family benefit concert with musical explanations on November 19.
It was a special kind of birthday song: in 1884, composer Edvard Grieg wrote the piece "From Holberg's Time" to mark the 200th birthday of Norwegian poet and explorer Ludvig Holberg. The piece is based on courtly dances and songs during Holberg's lifetime. The Freiburg Student Orchestra (FSO), conducted by Gunnar Persicke, will now perform the piece for the whole family for the benefit of the "Tigerherz...wenn Eltern Krebs haben" (Tiger Heart...when parents have cancer) program at the Tumor Center Freiburg - CCCF of the Freiburg University Medical Center. The orchestra will be accompanied by exciting and humorous explanations from Prof. Dr. Bernhard Richter and Prof. Dr. Claudia Spahn, who head the Freiburg Institute for Musicians' Medicine. music lovers of all ages are invited. Admission to the event is free, donations are requested.
The "Tigerheart" offer
The "Tigerherz ...wenn Eltern Krebs haben" ("Tiger Heart ...when parents have cancer") service offered by the Psychosocial Cancer Counseling Service of the Freiburg University Medical Center is aimed at families in which one parent has cancer. "Tigerherz" aims to help the whole family by advising parents in this difficult situation and addressing the needs of the children. All services are free of charge. "Tigerherz" is financed exclusively by donations.
