Stefan Sous

* 1964 in Würselen / Aachen; German sculptor, lives and works in Düsseldorf

In 1990, Stefan Sous began his studies at the Düsselldorf Art Academy under Tony Ceagg, whose master student he became in 1995. As early as 1995, Sous exhibited at the "Forum junger Kunst" in the Kunsthalle Kiel, in the municipal gallery in Wolfsburg and in the Museum Bochum. This was followed by further solo and group exhibitions, such as 2001 at the Alte Nationalgalerie Berlin, 2005 at the Center for Art and Media ZKM Karlsruhe, as well as "high fidelity", a laser installation, 2009 in Havana, Cuba. He planned and realized several projects with the artist Heinke Haberland, such as "GUM" in Freiburg in 2006 and the "Brückenschlag" project at the Turtlebridge in Rimburg, Netherlands, from 2006 to 2008. The artist has received various prizes and awards, including the Bernhard Hoetger Prize (1994), the Förderpreis für bildende Kunst der Stadt Düsseldorf (1997), the "Artist in Residence" scholarship from the Goethe Institute in Porto Alegre, Brazil (2005) and the special prize "Paradoxien des Öffentlichen", Duisburg (2008).
