Doctolib GmbH (Mehringdamm 51, 10961 Berlin) acts as a data processor on our behalf for the purpose of operating an appointment management system and provides us with a modern calendar system, which we also use as part of pre-contractual organizational measures, i.e., those taken prior to the conclusion of the treatment contract. We use the Doctolib calendar software for our patients to perform appointment administration in a standardized manner. In doing so, Doctolib processes all data in accordance with all applicable data protection regulations and applies the highest security standards.

Additionally, our patients have the option to schedule appointments with us online at https://www.doctolib.de. In the case of direct online booking via the Doctolib website, Doctolib itself is the data controller regarding the processing of your data. 

As part of our internal appointment management at the Medical Center – University of Freiburg, the following data is entered into the Doctolib calendar: last name, first name, date of birth, address, phone number, email address, primary care physician, health insurance status, referring physician, reason for visit, and appointment history. Your data is collected as part of our appointment management system for the purpose of managing appointments. 

The legal basis for the processing of your data is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (the treatment mandate you grant us or pre-contractual measures such as the organization of initial appointments prior to the conclusion of the treatment contract), Article 6(1)(a) of the GDPR (consent for appointment reminders via SMS and email), and Article 9(2)(h) of the GDPR (for the purposes of preventive healthcare).

Doctolib does not share your data with commercial providers. Doctolib, just like your physician, is bound by professional confidentiality. A waiver of confidentiality is not required.

To reduce missed appointments, we would like to remind you of your appointment via SMS and/or email using the Doctolib calendar system, with your consent. If you no longer wish to receive reminders, you can perform the administration yourself in the app, or you can notify Doctolib or the relevant staff at the responsible department at the University Medical Center Freiburg at any time, and Doctolib or the relevant colleagues at the respective departments within the hospital will disable the reminders.

Doctolib GmbH (Mehringdamm 51, 10961 Berlin) is the contact and data controller for creating a Doctolib user account and booking appointments directly online via the Doctolib website. 

Therefore, Doctolib’s privacy policy applies in this regard.
