Dr.-Ing. cand. Sophia Ohnemus
Doctoral researcher (Optogenetics, Computational Modelling)
Research Interests:
- Optogenetic defibrillation of cardiac arrhythmias
- Automated model discovery of heart tissue elasticity
Brief CV:
Sophia Ohnemus earned both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Physics from the University of Freiburg. In May 2022, she joined the Cardiac Optogenetics group at IEKM as a doctoral researcher, working in collaboration with the Cardiac Systems Biology group at the Institute of Physics in Freiburg. In 2023, she was awarded an Add-on Fellowship for Interdisciplinary Life Sciences from the Joachim Herz Foundation, which enabled her to conduct a research stay at the Cardiac Systems Simulations Lab in Seattle.
