60,000 protective masks donated to Medical Center - University of Freiburg

The pharmaceutical company Dr. Falk Pharma is donating 60,000 protective masks to the University of Freiburg Medical Center, which is also passing some of the masks on to institutions in the region

Protective equipment for medical staff is currently urgently needed in many places. A donation from the Freiburg-based pharmaceutical company Dr. Falk Pharma GmbH has therefore come at just the right time. The company received respiratory masks free of charge from its long-standing Chinese partner and donated 60,000 of them to the Medical Center - University of Freiburg. "We are very grateful for this kind of support. The task now is to use the masks where they are most urgently needed. We are in close coordination with the city of Freiburg and the health and care facilities in the region," says Prof. Dr. Frederik Wenz, Chief Medical Officer of the Medical Center - University of Freiburg. "We already started handing out protective equipment to care facilities and retirement homes at the beginning of April with the help of medical students in order to keep the healthcare system as a whole stable," says Wenz.

According to the family-run company based in Freiburg-Hochdorf, a further 18,500 protective masks were handed over to the central collection point of the Freiburg district office's business development department, which also supplies physicians in private practice. Smaller quantities were also donated directly to care facilities in need.
