Outpatient care is an important pillar of the healthcare system. This is why outpatient consultation hours at the Medical Center - University of Freiburg are being maintained as far as possible, even in the current situation. Patients who have already made an appointment, for example at the Eye Center, can keep their appointment without any worries. It is not necessary to confirm an appointment in advance.

"If patients cancel or fail to attend an outpatient appointment at short notice, this often has negative consequences: Even supposedly minor problems can lead to long-term visual impairments if left untreated. In addition, we are usually unable to fill the appointment. This in turn leads to a backlog of appointments because more patients than usual have to be treated at a later date," emphasizes Prof. Dr. Thomas Reinhard, Medical Director of the Eye Center - University of Freiburg. In order to make outpatient appointments at the Eye Center even safer, it is sometimes necessary to change the appointment time. Affected patients will be informed of this in writing in advance.
