Generous donation in favor of Tigerherz
"Ladies' Circle 75 Freiburg" donates 18,500 euros to "Tigerherz ... wenn Eltern Krebs haben" / Largest single donation for the Medical Center - University of Freiburg's offerings
At the end of July, the Freiburg "Ladies' Circle 75" organized a charity golf tournament at the Freiburg Golf Club for the benefit of "Tigerherz ... wenn Eltern Krebs haben", a service offered by the Psychosocial Cancer Counselling Service of the Comprehensive Cancer Center Freiburg - CCCF at the Medical Center - University of Freiburg. The event raised an impressive 18,500 euros. With the help of numerous sponsors, the Freiburg Golf Club, the charitable sale of golf holes, the collection of donations and a raffle, the immense donation sum was achieved. It is the largest donation cheque that "Tigerherz ... wenn Eltern Krebs haben" has ever received. The money will be used to finance outdoor play equipment for the Tigerherz children.
The tournament was accompanied by music from "Fritz and Friends", among others, against the breathtaking backdrop of the Freiburg countryside. The food from "Patcharawadee Thai Cuisine" provided culinary delights. "We would like to thank everyone involved, especially the women from the Ladies' Circle, who put their passionate commitment into this charity tournament," says Günther Storz, Managing Director of the Comprehensive Cancer Center Freiburg - CCCF.
The local "Ladies' Circle 75 Freiburg" was founded in November 2017. The 20 women are between 18 and 45 years old. The Ladies' Circles were originally founded in England in 1930 as a counterpart to the male "Round Tables". Both clubs are dedicated to supporting social projects.
The "Tigerheart ... when parents have cancer" program
"Tigerheart ... when parents have cancer" is aimed at families in which one parent has cancer. The aim is to help the whole family by prioritizing the needs of the children in this difficult situation.
The children and young people work individually or in groups, often creatively with different materials. There is room for feelings, fears can be addressed, but fun and laughter are not neglected either. An extensive vacation program enables the "Tigerherz" children to have wonderful experiences in the group. The "Tigerherz" advisory service is aimed at parents, grandparents, professionals and interested people. All services are free of charge and are financed exclusively by donations.
