Josef Ruf Bäckerei und Lebensmittel KG donated 2,200 euros to the Freiburg association to help mentally ill children and young people / The money came from a deposit voucher campaign

Beckesepp, a supermarket and bakery company, has donated 2,200 euros to the Freiburg Association for the Help of Mentally Ill Children and Adolescents. The symbolic cheque was handed over at the beginning of October in the garden of the Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, Psychotherapy and Psychosomatics at the Medical Center - University of Freiburg.

The money was collected as part of a deposit voucher campaign in which customers were able to donate the amount of their deposit vouchers at nine supermarket locations. Among other things, the association uses the donations to support services for young patients at the Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, Psychotherapy and Psychosomatics at the Medical Center - University of Freiburg. "We appreciate every donation that helps us to implement projects and measures that are not covered by the state, health insurance companies or the youth welfare office," said Prof. Dr. Christian Fleischhaker, Acting Medical Director of the Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, Psychotherapy and Psychosomatics. "Since the corona pandemic, there has been a significant increase in mental illnesses in children and adolescents," adds Dr. Madeleine Zimmermann, Senior Physician at the Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, Psychotherapy and Psychosomatics and member of the Board of Directors of the association. "It is important to us that their needs are not lost sight of."
