Study on eye movements and the ability to concentrate in ADHD
The Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, Psychotherapy and Psychosomatics at the Medical Center - University of Freiburg is looking for children, adolescents and young adults with a confirmed ADHD diagnosis for a study.
In people with attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), the answers within a task fluctuate considerably during processing. One possible explanation lies in fluctuations in the ability to concentrate. In order to test this hypothesis, the Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, Psychotherapy and Psychosomatics at the Medical Center - University of Freiburg is investigating the relationship between eye movements and the ability to concentrate.
An initial telephone appointment is followed by a concentration test in the test laboratory lasting around two and a half hours, including breaks. Here, the study participants solve various tasks on the computer while their line of vision is recorded using infrared sensors. At a second on-site appointment, the participants have to solve various puzzles in an intelligence test lasting around one hour.
Who can take part?
Children, teenagers and young adults between the ages of 13 and 18 who have been diagnosed with ADHD can register by sending an e-mail with the subject "Eye movement study" to kjp.forschung.3@uniklinik-freiburg.de to register for participation in the study. Please provide your name, age and telephone number. As compensation, each participant will receive four movie or book vouchers.
