Medical Center - University of Freiburg takes over nursing care training center
The Academy for Medical Professions at the Medical Center - University of Freiburg integrates the nursing care training center at the Bad Krozingen site / Expansion of training places
Whether in nursing, medical-technical or therapeutic fields, the Academy for Medical Professions at the Medical Center - University of Freiburg offers modern and practical training to more than 1,000 trainees. In April, the Academy for Medical Professions took over the nursing care training center in Bad Krozingen, which had previously been run by the Benedikt Kreutz Association. The trainees are now prepared for their professional life at two locations, in Bad Krozingen and in Freiburg.
Together with academy director Franz-Josef Overhoff, school director Gabriele Salrein-Hahn and site manager at the Bad Krozingen campus Jakob Jäckle have increased the training capacity for nursing professionals to 120 places and will strengthen the overall local offering. The advanced training course for practical guidance was launched in February and the one-year training course for healthcare and nursing assistants in April.
"The merger of the two training centers creates a joint educational campus. This is an important milestone in strengthening the Medical Center - University of Freiburg as the leading training provider for healthcare and nursing professions in South Baden and also decisively advances the further development of the Bad Krozingen campus," says Overhoff."Expertise and experience can be bundled under the roof of one institution."
Training the next generation at the Medical Center - University of Freiburg
The connection to the university hospital gives trainees the opportunity to get to know the entire medical and nursing spectrum of a maximum care provider. "Our most important concern is to provide our trainees and employees with a diverse, individual and modern range of training and further education opportunities," says Overhoff. For example, nursing care trainees can start four times a year, which means the greatest possible flexibility. "We are preparing for the future by being able to take on employees after their training," explains Overhoff. "After all, investing in an attractive training program today means gaining skilled workers for tomorrow."
