Information event for chronic inflammatory bowel diseases

An information event on chronic inflammatory bowel disease will take place on Saturday, December 2, 2023 / Those affected, relatives and interested parties are invited to attend


Around 320,000 people in Germany are affected by chronic inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD) such as Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis. The Department of Medicine II at the Medical Center - University of Freiburg and the German Crohn's/Colitis Ulcerosa Association (DCCV e.V.) are offering an information event for patients, relatives and interested parties on Saturday, December 2, 2023 from 9:30 am to 12 noon. The venue is the large lecture hall of the Medical Clinic, Hugstetter Straße 55 in Freiburg, at the Medical Center - University of Freiburg. Attendance is free of charge and registration is not required.

New approaches for personalized medicine

"It is important to us to keep up to date with the latest research findings and developments in the field of IBD so that we can offer those affected and their families the best possible support and treatment options," said Prof. Dr. Peter Hasselblatt, Senior Consultant at the Department of Medicine II at the Medical Center - University of Freiburg. Topics at the event will include measures to prevent IBD and counseling services for those affected. In addition, experts will present new medications and explain personalized medicine approaches that make it possible to tailor drug therapies to each individual patient.
