The association:
Every day, one or two deaf children are born in Germany. Successful treatment is usually possible. Electrodes are implanted microsurgically into the inner ear so that the children can hear and thus learn to speak. Adults who become deaf late in life can also be treated in this way and resume their normal lives. The association "Deaf children learn to hear" supports the optimal medical and therapeutic care of the children. It informs the public and raises money for research, technical development and equipment for the Implant Center at Freiburg University Medical Center.
