Strong for the region: continence and pelvic floor center certified as a complex care provider
The only facility in the Freiburg area with the quality seal of the German Continence Society for interdisciplinary complex care
Bladder weakness, faecal incontinence or pelvic floor problems affect many people - regardless of age or gender. The interdisciplinary Continence and Pelvic Floor Center at the University Medical Center Freiburg has now been certified as a complex care provider by the German Continence Society. Patients with incontinence or prolapse problems receive comprehensive diagnostics and treatment at the highest level. The center brings together experts from the fields of gynaecology, urology, coloproctology, radiology and physiotherapy.
"Pelvic floor disorders are among the most common but often taboo health problems. Sometimes those affected wait a long time for medical help out of shame, even though modern diagnostics and treatment offer good chances of recovery," says Prof. Dr. Markus Hübner, Head of the Center and Head of the Urogynecology Section at the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Freiburg University Medical Center. "At our certified center, we help patients with pelvic floor dysfunction individually, efficiently and in an interdisciplinary manner."
The certified center offers structured consultation hours with joint case discussions and treatment planning. The aim is to provide individual treatment that is as gentle as possible - conservative, medicinal or surgical. The team treats people of all genders and age groups.
