Together against endometriosis
Info day on November 15 / Information, exchange and support for those affected and interested
Endometriosis is the most common gynecological disease and affects up to 30 percent of all women between puberty and menopause. To provide information about the causes, diagnosis and treatment options, the Medical Center - University of Freiburg is hosting an Endometriosis Info Day on Saturday, November 15, 2025 from 12:15 to 4 pm. The event will be held at the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Hugstetter Straße 55 in Freiburg. Participation is free of charge and registration is not required.
"Many sufferers live with endometriosis without receiving a clear diagnosis or targeted help," says Prof. Dr. Ingolf Juhasz-Böss, Medical Director of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Medical Center - University of Freiburg. "With our information day, we want to reach people who have symptoms but are not yet clear about their cause. At the same time, we want to offer a space for sharing experiences."
Workshops, expert discussions and testimonials
The afternoon will focus on interactive workshops on self-help, yoga and taping for endometriosis, a method in which elastic tape is used to relieve pain. A moderated talk will shed light on symptoms, diagnosis and treatment options, supplemented by personal insights from a patient. Other contributions will focus on how to deal with disinformation in social media, new findings from research and surgical therapies.
Endometriosis - often recognized late
Endometriosis is a chronic, benign disease. Tissue that resembles the lining of the uterus grows outside the uterus. Typical symptoms include severe menstrual pain, fatigue, digestive problems or an unfulfilled desire to have children. It often takes years before a diagnosis is made - but the disease can now be treated and monitored well.
