Fears and Optimism in Times of Social Upheaval
Medical Center – University of Freiburg’s Psychosomatic Tuesday Colloquium in the Summer Semester / In-person and online participation
How do people cope with uncertainty and social change? This question is the focus of the Psychosomatic Tuesday Colloquium at the Department of Psychosomatic Medicine and Psychotherapy at the Medical Center – University of Freiburg during the summer semester of 2026. The lecture series begins on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, and is dedicated to the topic “What Does the Future Hold? Fears and Confidence in Times of Social Upheaval.” The events will take place on Tuesdays from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. in Lecture Hall 1010 in College Building I at the University of Freiburg, as well as online.
“Social changes also affect mental health. The colloquium provides a framework for discussing these developments from medical, psychological, and social perspectives,” says Prof. Dr. Claas Lahmann, Medical Director of the Department of Psychosomatic Medicine and Psychotherapy at the Medical Center – University of Freiburg.
Participation in the Psychosomatic Tuesday Colloquium is free of charge. Registration is not required. The events are open to members of all faculties as well as interested guests. Continuing education credits will be awarded to physicians and psychologists.
