The Board of Directors manages the University Hospital and conducts the business, prepares the resolutions of the Supervisory Board and implements them. It is responsible for all matters that are not assigned to the Supervisory Board by law or the Articles of Association. As part of its duties, it supervises the facilities of the University Hospital.

The Innovation Advisory Board of the Medical Center - University of Freiburg - Recognizing innovation potential and trends
The Medical Center – University of Freiburg must be able to respond quickly to evolving legislative, economic and technological conditions. Strengthening its capacity for innovation and organizational agility is therefore essential. Established in 2022, the Innovation Advisory Board advises and supports the Executive Board and the Medical Center’s departments.
The interdisciplinary Innovation Advisory Board identifies societal, economic and technological trends and assesses their potential impact on the Medical Center – University of Freiburg. It critically reviews proposed plans and new concepts and provides guidance on organizational and cultural transformation processes throughout the Medical Center.
