Neurosurgical intensive care unit
The special professional challenge!Over 1500 patients are treated in the intensive care unit of the Department of Neurosurgery every year.
The ward has 17 intensive care beds equipped with the latest technology. Our daily tasks are varied and demanding. These include the post-operative monitoring of patients following intracranial surgery and bleeding, traumatic brain injury and angiological emergencies.
Nursing care staff, neurosurgeons, anaesthetists, speech therapists and physiotherapists work very closely together in the therapeutic team.
All modern intensive care treatment procedures are available to you in our intensive care unit. The equipment is state of the art.

Our team consists of five physicians, 49 employees in the Department of Nursing and seven employees in the nursing assistance area. Following further capacity expansion, we now have 17 intensive therapy beds.
The professional skills of our employees are important to us. That's why we offer internal specialist training in intensive care .
