FACS AnalysisBooking of Flow Cytometers
- Please be sure that you have attended the appropriate introductory course.
- Please write your name, phone number and your laboratory name in the booking calendar system.
- Please reserve your appointments at least two days before use.
- The maximum length of a single appointment is two hours between the hours of 11:00 and 16:00. Longer appointments should be scheduled outside of this time period.
- The appointments are binding.
- If you have to cancel an appointment, please delete it from the calendar.
- Please inform the next user when you are delayed.

2 - The Sony SP6800 ZE spectral analyzer has a spectral detector, allowing the unmixing (separation) and analysis of multiple colors simultaneously (up to 20). Please note that the 405 nm and 638 nm lasers on this system are colinear(i.e. simultaneous illumination). This will affect your possible choices of fluorophores for these two lasers.
3 - The Sony ID7000 spectral analyzer has 5 decks of spectral detectors, allowing the unmixing (separation) and analysis of multiple colors simultaneously (more than 40).
Please contact the Lighthouse staff for advice on which machine would be best suited for your experiments, or for help with panel design, as well as to ask about the date and time of the next training session. If you need more information as to which combinations of dyes or fluorescent proteins it is possible to use, please contact us. The best time to do this is when first planning a new experiment.
Cloud Licenses
Lighthouse now has a FluoroFinder Academic Plus Sitewide License. Fluorofinder has many useful tools to help you get started with panel design, in addition to a spectra viewer, validated panels, and directories of antibodies and fluorophores. All Lighthouse cytometers (analyzers and sorters) are listed on Fluorofinder, to make it easier for our users to develop panels for their experiments. Access for all is free, with more advanced tools available under the Sitewide license (for example AI Intellipanel tool). If you would like access to the Lighthouse Academic Plus Sitewide license, please contact us at FACSlab@uniklinik-freiburg.de and we will have your account activated.
Lighthouse also has a Cytobank Premium Cloud License, with many tools for dimensionality reduction, correction of batch effects and other useful tools for high-end cytometry analysis. All Lighthouse users can use the license. To get access to Cytobank, please contact us at FACSlab@uniklinik-freiburg.de and we will have your account activate.
Offline Analysis
Lighthouse also has offline analysis workstations with several flow cytometry analysis software programs that you are welcome to use:
