Your illness and treatment at the University Medical Center Freiburg may result in changes in your life situation. This may give rise to questions about which we will be happy to inform and advise you and your relatives. Our aim is to work with you to find individual help for your personal situation. Our social counseling complements the medical and nursing care provided by the clinic - also with regard to discharge. Give us a call or ask your attending doctor or the nursing team on the ward about the social services.
The social services of the University Hospital offer you
- Psychosocial counseling: support with personal and social problems arising from your hospital stay
- Clarification of social law claims
- Advice on medical rehabilitation and organization of follow-up treatment
- Information on disability law and professional reintegration
- Information on health care proxies and guardianship law as well as the suggestion of legal guardians
- Clarification of further care in the home environment
- Organization of family assistance for children requiring care
- Support in the search for short-term care, nursing home and hospice places
- Contacts to advice centers and self-help groups
