Advanced training departmentThe Department of Advanced Training at the Medical Center - University of Freiburg offers you an attractive and highly qualified range of courses. In our continuing education catalog you will find our continuing education offerings, consisting of events in presence and virtual presence (Webex). You can find our e-learning courses on the e-learning platform ILIAS.
The following mandatory training courses are compulsory for all employees at the University Hospital:

Additional mandatory training
The obligation to participate in training seminars also depends on areas/activities and target groups, among other things. Additional mandatory training courses therefore apply to certain professional/personal groups. A list of these can be found in the annex to the service agreement. This annex is regularly supplemented and updated.
Additional information
Qualifications that are required by law in order to exercise the profession are not subject to the service agreements at the University Hospital but must be fulfilled and proven individually.
You or your line manager are responsible for providing evidence of the training events you regularly attend. The documentation of mandatory qualifications can be viewed in the personal data overview.
In the advanced training catalog under "Personal area", the events administered by the Advanced Training department and booked and completed by you are displayed (only visible when logged in). This does not apply to e-learning courses held on Ilias.
The certificate courses at the Medical Center - University of Freiburg are aimed at specific groups of people who wish to specialize in their respective field. In order to complete a course, advanced training courses must be attended within a defined period of time. Read more...
All full-time employees of the Medical Center - University of Freiburg are entitled to attend free of charge. This does not apply to research assistants, doctoral students, physicians in their practical year, interns, trainees and temporary staff, participants in the Federal Voluntary Service.
External interested parties must register in advance so that the registration data can be processed with your course request. Please make sure that the spelling is correct and enter an e-mail address assigned to you.
The advanced training department applies annually to the Baden-Württemberg Medical Association for recognition of advanced training points, also known colloquially as CME (=Continuing Medical Education) points, for the medical service for selected seminars that can be planned in the long term.
Seminars that are recognized with continuing medical education points are confirmed by an additional certificate. Employees of the Medical Service can thus obtain the continuing medical education certificate from the Medical Association by adding up and submitting CME points. The number of CME points can be found in the respective seminar announcement.
Further training points "Registration of professional nursing care staff"
You will receive continuing education points as part of the "Registration of Professional Nursing Care Professionals" under the ID number: 20090764.
The number of points is based on the duration of the event, which is shown on the confirmation of participation.
The professional group of professional carers includes
- geriatric nurses
- Pediatric nurses or healthcare and pediatric nurses
- Nurses or healthcare and nursing staff
