Cooks carry out all the work involved in preparing food.
They know the recipes for all kinds of dishes such as soups, sauces, pastries and desserts. The preparation of menus and the procurement of the necessary food and ingredients are also part of the chef's job description.
They organize processes in the kitchen and ensure that the food is ready on time.
