Donations in the event of bereavement
Donations instead of flowers and wreaths
We would like to thank you for thinking of others despite your own grief and deciding to make a condolence donation. It can often be comforting to do something good in memory of a loved one and help you deal with the loss. Many families wish to do something that is in the spirit of the deceased and can have an impact even after their death.
One such option is to forgo flowers and wreaths at the funeral and instead ask your mourners to make a donation to the Medical Center - University of Freiburg.
Your mourners can transfer their condolence donation to the following account:

You are welcome to contact us eight weeks after the funeral to find out how much has been donated under your intended purpose.
The obituary

Donation receipt
For donations of up to 300 euros to a non-profit organization, such as the Medical Center - University of Freiburg, a simplified donation receipt for submission to the tax office is permitted. For this purpose, it is sufficient to submit a cash deposit slip, bank booking confirmation or credit card statement containing the following information:
- Name and account number or other means of identification of the donor and recipient
- Amount
- Booking date
- Proof that the payment was actually made
For donations of 301 euros or more, we will automatically send you a donation receipt when you donate via the online donation portal.
