Scope of services and diagnostics
The laboratory supports the hospital infection control, prevention and hygiene team by decoding putative transmission chains through sequencing of patient and environmental samples from the wards.
Main areas of work:
Whole genome sequencing using Illumina MiSeq and evaluation with respect to evolutionary relationships and markers for antibiotic resistance.
