Gastrointestinal outpatient clinic - Crohn's/colitis outpatient clinic
Patients with all degrees of severity of chronic inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), i.e. Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis and indeterminate colitis, are treated in the Crohn's/colitis outpatient clinic. The focus is on the care of patients with complex disease progression. Laboratory tests, ultrasound, endoscopy and radiological procedures are used for diagnostics.
In addition to the approved drug therapy, we offer new therapeutic approaches as part of clinical studies for patients who do not respond sufficiently to conventional therapy or cannot tolerate it. Through close case-related exchange with the Department of General and Visceral Surgery as part of a weekly IBD conference, the Clinics for Psychosomatics and Psychotherapy, the Section for Nutritional Medicine, the Inflammation Conference at the Center for Chronic Immunodeficiency and the Interdisciplinary Pain Center as well as other specialist departments, we try to find and implement the best possible individual care for each patient. We work closely with practicing gastroenterologists as part of regular joint CED case conferences and advanced training and offer the opportunity to present patients for a second opinion. This enables us to offer you treatment "from a single source", from the initial diagnosis to the most severe courses of the disease, taking into account proven treatment standards and the latest developments, but without losing sight of the patient and their individual needs.
The gastrointestinal outpatient clinic also focuses on the treatment of patients with
- Short bowel syndrome (in close cooperation with the Section for Nutritional Medicine)
- Functional intestinal complaints (irritable bowel syndrome) and chronic abdominal pain in close cooperation with the Clinic for Psychosomatics and Psychotherapy and the Interdisciplinary Pain Center
- Coeliac disease and food intolerances
- Immunodeficiencies and intestinal complaints in close cooperation with the Center for Chronic Immunodeficiency.
