Teaching coordination team for surgery

Dr. Philippe-Fabian Pohlmann

Equipped with a Master of Medical Education and a specialist in urology, Dr. Pohlmann leads the teaching coordination team alongside his work as a surgeon. He is the provisional head of the team and thus forms the interface between teaching, science and practice, not least thanks to his research projects, which have resulted in numerous publications. An important part of his remit is also the coordination of various stakeholders from practice and teaching.

Dr. Verena Martini

As a doctor of general and visceral surgery, Dr. Martini is well connected and familiar with everyday clinical practice. In her role as a lecturer, she passes on her knowledge to students in the form of lectures and practical seminars in and outside the lecture hall. These include suturing and sonography courses. In addition, she is currently leading a research project (iSURGE) to improve interdisciplinary communication and collaboration in the operating theater. Due to her diverse fields of work, she has a comprehensive understanding of how theory, practice and research intertwine. Organizationally, she is the primary contact person for the medical profession.

Graduate teacher Daniela Behringer

Ms Behringer's core tasks include the continuous e-learning development and digitalization of teaching content, with a focus on the modern media design of blended learning formats. She also puts her heart and soul into the presentation of the teaching coordination team and surgical teaching on its website. She not only benefits from her expertise in media and web design, but also from her professional background as an adult educator. She is the right contact person for the administration and organization of medicAL teaching content as well as the support of medicAL users (lecturers and students); she is therefore happy to answer any questions and technical concerns regarding digital teaching. As the contact person, she implements requests for changes to the digital teaching design of the individual surgical departments.

Dr. Stephan George

Mr. George develops and implements innovative teaching strategies and techniques, including the use of gamification and storytelling elements, to make the process of knowledge transfer more effective and engaging for teachers and students. As a doctor of intercultural communication, he is well networked in various areas of the university hospital, initiates and promotes evaluation processes at various levels and is available as a contact person for students in their practical year. He is also responsible for the scientific support of (teaching) projects such as the surgical interprofessional school ward (ChipS) and the further development of the preoperative information session.

Helene König-Ellsäßer

Thanks to her many years of experience, Ms. König-Ellsässer has a unique overview of the structures and contexts of theoretical and practical knowledge transfer.

She is responsible for the area of teaching coordination and is responsible for the coordination, planning and control of all processes and the central source of information.

As the contact person and mediator between lecturers, students and the Dean's Office, she ensures smooth communication and cooperation.

She is also responsible for the induction of new employees and makes targeted suggestions for the continuous development of teaching in the surgical clinics.

Peter Leicht

Mr Leicht primarily deals with organizational and practical aspects of teaching. In his role as a lecture assistant, he is responsible for room bookings and lecture hall management, among other things. Due to his professional experience in nursing, his work also includes teaching practical skills such as leading the plaster course.

Gesine König

Ms. König is our highly valued support in student administration during examination periods or at the beginning of the semester.
