Psycho-Oncological and Social Counseling
Psychosocial cancer counseling at the Comprehensive Cancer Center Freiburg – CCCFWe offer counseling for outpatients with cancer, as well as for relatives and friends. This means we provide counseling regardless of where you are receiving medical treatment. Our goal is to provide relief – after the initial shock of the diagnosis, during treatment or after it has been completed. We aim to offer support when family life needs to be reorganized or when a loved one cannot be cured. We also provide information about financial assistance and rehabilitation options. In addition, we foster exchange and community through our group sessions and workshops.
Our counseling can take place in person, by phone, or via video. It is confidential and free of charge for you. Counseling in other languages is also available.
The Section for Consultation and Liaison Psychosomatics is responsible for psycho-oncological care during inpatient stays at the University Hospital.
About us
At the Psycho-Oncological and Social Counseling Center Freiburg, we aim to support and accompany cancer patients and their loved ones during the challenging time of their illness. Our team offers a wide range of services tailored to the individual needs and life situations of our clients.
All outpatient cancer patients are welcome to contact us, not just patients of the University Medical Center Freiburg. The Section for Consultation and Liaison Psychosomatics is responsible for psycho-oncological care during inpatient stays at the University Medical Center.
Family members and loved ones can also take advantage of our counseling services. The “Tigerherz…when parents have cancer” program is specifically designed to meet the needs of children of parents with cancer. This program is available regardless of the treatment setting (outpatient or inpatient, internal or external patients).
Our goal is to provide psychosocial support to those affected and their families. Through our psycho-oncological and social-legal counseling, we help you navigate the emotional, social, and legal challenges of a cancer diagnosis. We accompany you through all phases of the illness and help you achieve a better quality of life.
