Studies currently being conducted
The Department of Radiation Oncology at the University of Freiburg is currently conducting 24 ongoing clinical trials. In 2023, 228 new patients were enrolled in a trial.
Our team’s work consists of developing and overseeing study protocols. Our team has developed numerous study protocols that are being conducted at treatment centers throughout Germany (multicenter studies). The planning and implementation of these studies (IITs) developed by our clinic’s physicians is the core competency of our section.
Another focus is the research of innovative biomarkers—both molecular and imaging-based (CT, MRI, PET)—as well as the investigation of these parameters in relation to radiation therapy.
In addition, we handle all necessary logistics, including data collection, documentation, and monitoring of clinical trials. In addition to the required professional expertise and experience, our team also possesses extensive experience and empathy to ensure that our study participants feel well cared for.
