Gerok Liver Center
The Gerok Liver Center offers the complete spectrum of outpatient diagnostics and therapy for liver diseases. Through close cooperation with our interdisciplinary endoscopy department, our interdisciplinary ultrasound center, our wards in the Department of Medicine II, liver surgery, radiology, radiotherapy and nuclear medicine, we can also offer diagnostics and therapy "from a single source" for complex liver diseases in an inpatient setting. We cooperate closely with our colleagues in private practice. In addition, we can offer our patients the opportunity to participate in studies, including those involving pioneering new drugs, in collaboration with our study center.
We treat the following liver diseases, among others
- Acute and chronic liver diseases of unknown cause
- viral hepatitis (hepatitis A-E)
- Alcoholic liver disease
- non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) or non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH)
- toxic drug-induced hepatitis
- Autoimmune hepatitis, primary biliary cholangitis (PBC) and primary sclerosing cholangitis
- Hereditary liver diseases such as haemochromatosis, Wilson's disease, alpha-1-antitrypsin deficiency
