Neurological intensive care unit
The special professional challenge! In the neurological intensive care unit, we treat the entire spectrum of neurological intensive care conditions with a focus on neurovascular diseases. Observation, perception and support are at the heart of outstanding multi-professional and intensive care teamwork. Intensive care and teamwork set us apart!
The early rehabilitation approach and the recovery of lost abilities are promoted by the close integration of physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy and patient-oriented nursing care with the involvement of relatives. With us, nursing care is relevant to therapy!
- Electrophysiology (EEG, evoked potentials, neurography and EMG)
- Neurosonography (extra- and intracranial Doppler and duplex sonography, embolism monitoring, CO2 reactivity, non-invasive intracranial pressure monitoring with Doppler and duplex sonography)
- Long-term EEG
- intracranial pressure monitoring
- Cerebrospinal fluid diagnostics and monitoring
In addition to basic monitoring using non-invasive and blood pressure measurement, hemodynamic monitoring can be supplemented by extended hemodynamic monitoring using:
- Pulmonary artery catheter
- PICCO monitoring
- Echocardiography (in cooperation with the cardiology department)
A large number of intensive medical interventions are carried out directly by the intensive care unit team, such as
- endotracheal intubation
- Carrying out diagnostic and therapeutic bronchoscopies
- Installation of central venous catheters
- Intravascular hypothermia treatment
- Placement of chest drains
- Performing dilatation tracheostomy
- diverse qualification opportunities, e.g. Stroke Unit qualification course
- Trusting cooperation in a specialized team
- great colleagues you can rely on at all times
- close interdisciplinary cooperation for the benefit of our patients
We are a team specially trained in therapeutic nursing care. For example, we have speech therapists, occupational therapists, physiotherapists and social workers. We also work closely with the other intensive care units.
