Surgical Intensive Care Unit (CIT) & Intermediate Care (C-IMC)

The special professional challenge!

Our day-to-day work is varied and includes the care of 18 intensive care perioperative patients in general and visceral surgery, trauma surgery, orthopaedics and urology. The focus of our ward is on complex diseases of the entire gastrointestinal tract and is managed by the medical team from General and Visceral Surgery. Restrictions in liver or kidney function require special infusion therapy. We provide extracorporeal procedures such as Albutec liver dialysis and hemodialysis.

Extensive wound therapies, drainage and catheter installations are carried out daily by physicians in our procedure room. We care for patients during and after short anesthesia.

As part of an interdisciplinary team, we accompany our patients until they are transferred to the normal ward. In addition to physiotherapy and occupational therapy, this includes an emergency paramedic who takes care of in-hospital transportation and assists with interventions, as well as pharmaceutical technical assistants who support us in the medication administration process.

  • 18 fully equipped ventilation stations (use of all invasive and non-invasive forms of ventilation)
  • 12 state-of-the-art IMC places with plenty of space
  • Continuous 2:1 nursing care for intensive care patients and 3:1 care for IMC patients
  • Additional nursing field service plus ward assistant
  • an operating room equipped as a small OR, in which > 1000 interventions per year take place (CVC, chest drains, Vac, port, abscess drains)

  • Above-average pay
  • Extensive trainee program
  • Exciting and varied activities
  • Structured induction
  • Support from our experienced employees through up-to-date and specific qualification measures
  • Great colleagues you can rely on at all times

Our entry and development opportunities are diverse, so you can join us in intensive care with or without professional experience. For example, you can start in our IMC area, gain initial experience and later switch to the intensive care unit.
