Striving for and living equal opportunities

Equality between women and men in the workplace is the declared goal of the Ministry of Social Affairs and Integration of the State of Baden-Württemberg.

Accordingly, public institutions such as the Medical Center – University of Freiburg are required to create structures and provide resources to achieve complete equality. The basis for their work is the Act on the Realization of Equal Opportunities for Women and Men in the Public Service in Baden-Württemberg (Equal Opportunities Act), the General Equal Treatment Act, and the Basic Law (especially Article 3).

However, we are still in the early stages of achieving true equality in all areas and at all hierarchical levels. Nevertheless, the Medical Center – University of Freiburg is striving to significantly increase the proportion of women in areas where they are underrepresented.
